Simple, straightforward install. Looks great and I’m happy about its look and simplicity. I had to take off close to 1/32” to get my set screw to line up with the shaft though. Luckily I have a metal lathe so it was easily done.

I swapped out all my DuraSafe trolling motor locks for the Sea Secure trolling motor lock, and it’s been a real upgrade. It fits nicely with the MinnKota QuickRelease brackets and feels solid and very secure. Installation was a snap—clear instructions and hardware right in the box, no drama. The build quality feels great and sturdy. After dealing with seized locks from Durasafe, this one gets the job done without fuss and is reliable. If you’re looking to simplify things and feel confident on the water, this is it.

Th installation was a breeze. The sea swivel lets me have the motor out of the way.
Fantastic solution. The motor doesn't hang over the edge when stowed, and I can still use my anchor lockers. I hemmed and hawed about the cost of the magnet stand until someone tried to beat me to a spot; I deployed and was back at the helm before he unscrewed his ram mount!

I bought another lock from a well-known company and it ended up being absolute garbage. I found this lock and I am extremely impressed. I do not have to worry about it getting corroded or getting locked onto the boat where I have to cut it off. The fit was perfect and there is no play in the bracket. Very satisfied.

I was looking for an anti-thief deterrent for my trolling motor. Did not want to keep removing it after fishing and carting it home. The trolling motor was mounted on a Sea Swivel trolling motor mount and I happen to see they also offered a locking mechanism. Installation was extremely simple and I am impressed with the quality, and the nature of the locking part. Instead of buying a lock with a key and have it bang around in rough conditions, I highly recommend researching the lock used to protect your investment.

The Sea Swivel replacement bar and lock for the Garmin quick release bracket is a precisioned machined part and liked that. Like that it eliminates any additional clutter you would have with a traditional lock. Time will tell on how it holds up in the Salt environment but the installation was smooth. I especially liked that an extra lock and everything required was included in the kit. One piece of feedback is that the hardest part was the Garmin pin removal that orignally came from Garmin with loctite on the screw that holds it. Special care needed when removing it. Using a wrachet phillips wrench recommended to keep from causing screw head damage. Might want to consider adding this screw to your kit.

Great quality and install was pretty straightforward. Taking the mounting bracket off and getting back on is the most difficult part. It’s only been on a short time so we will see how it holds up to any corrosion.

Probably a great product for those that leave the trolling motor on the boat all time, I have to remove it put the cover on after each use. It would be nice to have a quick removal end/nut as well. That you could swap out depending on if you need the security or not.
